Philip Roth 50th anniversary celebration

Not this looks like it’s going to be a big deal.
On Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 7 p.m., Queens College will host a 50th anniversary celebration
of the work of Philip Roth.
In addition to Mr. Roth, other featured attendees will be Norman Manea, Greil Marcus, Joyce Carol Oates and Norman Rush.
Roth published his first book, Goodbye, Columbus, fifty years ago in 1959. As many readers of this blog already know, he is the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the National Medal of Arts. Roth written many, many, many novels, including Letting Go, Portnoy’s Complaint, My Life as a Man, The Professor of Desire, The Counterlife, Operation Shylock, Sabbath’s Theater, American Pastoral, I Married a Communist, The Human Stain, Exit Ghost, and, most recently, Indignation.
Oh, come on. If you don’t already know who Philip Roth is, you probably won’t be interested in this blog.
I don’t live in the New York area, but if I did, I’d certainly enjoy this evening. I’m jealous.
Hope you all have a good time.
