Just in time for the holidays, I have been given the opportunity to give away five copies of Sharon Duke Estroff's new book, “Can I Have a Cell Phone for Hanukkah?: The Essential Scoop on Raising Modern Jewish Kids.”
Sharon is an accomplished writer and a syndicated columnist whose Jewish parenting articles have appeared in more than 50 publications. She's also a friend of mine whose children attend the same school that my kids go to.
But, don't get the book just because she's my friend. Sharon has filled “Can I have a Cell Phone” with lots of practical advice for Jewish parents, including how to deal with Santa-envy, how to survive the homework struggle, how to plan a birthday party without breaking your budget and how to help shy kids make friends. Also, there are chapters on grade-school playdate protocol and parenting in the Net generation.
You can find lots more information on Sharon and her book at www.sharonestroff.com.
If you would like a free copy of the book, just leave me a comment below indicating that you'd like to receive one. You don't need to put your mailing address in the comment. I'll follow up by responding the email address you entered as part of the comment.

Hi Steve…as a Jewish grandmother (bubbe) of a new granddaughter, I would love a copy of this book for my daughter and son-in-law. This is their first child, and I think it would be quite useful, in many respects. Thank you!
OK, just one more left. Thanks for responding you guys. I will email you all later today.
